Bedazzled Greens

This delicious jewel-toned salad with glazed walnuts has a luscious dressing that will leave you and your guests
literally running back for more!!

 

5 Green Leaf leaves, washed and torn into bite-sized pieces
5 Red Leaf leaves, washed and torn into bite-sized pieces
2 Bosc pears, cut into bite-sized pieces
½ cup chopped Medjool dates
1 package Diamond Glazed Walnuts
2 T sesame seeds, toasted * (can omit for demo purposes)

 

Dressing Ingredients- Makes 1 cup**
½ cup sugar
1 T poppy seeds
1 T minced onion
¼ tsp. Worcestershire sauce
¼ tsp. paprika
½ cup vegetable oil
¼ cup cider vinegar

** Leftover dressing can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks for later use.

 

 

DIRECTIONS
To prepare salad
In a large salad bowl, place torn lettuce leaves, pears, dates, walnuts and sesame seeds.  Place all dressing ingredients into a blender.  Blend until ingredients are thoroughly combined and the mixture thickens. Drizzle dressing over the salad and toss to coat all ingredients.  

 

* To toast sesame seeds
Heat sesame seeds in skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally for 5-10 minutes, or until nicely browned.  Cool.
